Abstract 摘要

Artifcial intelligence (AI) is rapidly emerging in healthcare, yet applications in surgery remain relatively nascent. Here we review the integration of AI in the feld of surgery, centering our discussion on multifaceted improvements in surgical care in the preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative space. The emergence of foundation model architectures, wearable technologies and improving surgical data infrastructures is enabling rapid advances in AI interventions and utility. We discuss how maturing AI methods hold the potential to improve patient outcomes, facilitate surgical education and optimize surgical care. We review the current applications of deep learning approaches and outline a vision for future advances through multimodal foundation models.

人工智能 (AI) 在医疗卫生领域迅速崛起,但在外科手术中的应用仍相对不成熟。本文回顾了人工智能在外科领域的整合,重点讨论其在术前、术中和术后护理中多方面的改进。基础模型架构的出现、可穿戴技术的发展以及外科数据基础设施的改进正在推动人工智能干预和实用性的快速进步。我们探讨了成熟的人工智能方法如何有潜力改善患者预后、促进外科教育并优化外科护理。我们回顾了当前深度学习方法的应用,并概述了通过多模态基础模型实现未来进步的愿景
